Brian Zagata, MSW Trainee
Brian enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2004 and served with the Army’s 2nd Ranger Battalion, deploying to Iraq three times in support of combat operations. After completing his military service, Brian continued to serve others by becoming a registered nurse. For over a decade, he worked in a variety of medical settings, from pediatrics to the operating room. In the winter, you can find him on skis volunteering as a first responder for search and rescue.
Recognizing the unique challenges faced by veterans, first responders, and healthcare workers, Brian shifted his focus to supporting those carrying the weight of service. For the past two years, he has worked as a peer support specialist, helping individuals process their career experiences, get ‘unstuck’, and build the life they deserve.
Currently, Brian is completing his Master’s in Social Work at Simmons University. His firsthand experience in military, medical, and peer support roles uniquely positions him as a therapist to support others through their struggle. Brian’s compassionate, and strengths-based approach to his work, brings empowerment to those who have answered the call to serve and sacrifice for others.
