Nicole Manning, AMFT

Nicole is a culturally competent therapist with more than 25 years of service in law enforcement, who provides individual therapy to adults who are ready to address anxiety, depression, suicidal ideations, and trauma. Nicole has firsthand knowledge of the unique challenges faced by police officers, having worked 10 years in patrol and undercover roles before becoming a Sergeant and the last 15 years navigating patrol, investigations, and administrative roles. Nicole deeply understands the stresses of police work, from administrative betrayal and the traumas of daily calls to the stigma around seeking mental health support. Her work extends to helping not only police officers but also their spouses, fostering understanding of the changes that occur in response to this high-stress environment and the impact on personal relationships.

Nicole believes a therapist's role is to create a safe, supportive environment while maintaining a balance of empathy and firmness. She guides clients through their therapeutic journey, emphasizing personal responsibility for progress. While empathetic, she isn't afraid to be direct and uses a no-nonsense approach when needed. Nicole listens closely, challenges clients to stay true to the process, and ensures they are actively engaged in their own healing. Nicole believes in the power of self-care and positive coping mechanisms, particularly for those grappling with the effects of trauma. She assists clients in finding a renewed sense of purpose, even if that purpose starts with simply getting out of bed each day.

Nicole is approachable, sincere, and knowledgeable, particularly in the field of law enforcement. She knows when to ask questions and when to listen, utilizing humor when appropriate but always maintaining professionalism. She values humility and seeks guidance from more knowledgeable colleagues when necessary.
