Corey Kilmartin, MHC

Corey Kilmartin is dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), their families and caretakers, LGBTQ+ clients, and those facing challenges related to trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Having a disability requires more than finding new and creative ways to navigate the world, it can often lead to struggles with how to manage daily tasks and social interactions or how to cope with the emotional impact of being a caretaker or loved one of someone with IDD. Families and loved ones must also navigate their roles and all the changes in relationship dynamics.

As a therapist, Corey strives to be a compassionate guide, providing a judgment-free space where clients can explore and process emotions as they work towards meaningful change. Personal growth and healing occurs within an inclusive environment, which is necessary to overcome the challenges that impact relationships, work, and self-esteem. When clients are empowered, they are able to reclaim their lives and improve their mental well-being.

Corey can be described as empathetic, approachable, and patient, which allows for trust and open communication. He has extensive experience working with individuals with disabilities and expertise in trauma-informed therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) tailored to meet each client's unique needs.

Corey is under the clinical supervision of Nicole Frederick, LMHC., who specializes in PTSD and trauma for adults and adolescents with a focus on expressive therapies.
